What Is The Difference Between Little Red Riding Hood And The Little Red Cap Versions Of The Story?
In both versions of the Little Red Riding Hood story, the story starts out more or less in the same way.
However, the endings of each of the stories are quite different!
In the Brothers Grimm version, both Little Red Riding Hood and her granny are eaten by the wolf. However, when the huntsman finds the wolf he cuts him open and rescues both Little Red Riding Hood and her granny.
In Charles Perault’s version of the Little Red Riding Hood story (or, Little Red Cap), both Little Red Riding Hood and her granny are eaten by the wolf and are not rescued by the huntsman.

What Is The Moral Of Little Red Riding Hood Story?
1. Don’t Trust Strangers
One of the biggest themes in the Little Red Riding Hood story is the character represented by the wolf. Little Red Riding Hood doesn’t suspect that he has bad intentions because he is friendly and helpful, and it seems like he wants to be her friend.
It is important that children learn that even though someone may seem kind, they can sometimes be just as dangerous as the big bad wolf!
2. Don’t Disobey Parents
In some versions of the Little Red Riding Hood story, Little Red Riding Hood is told not to go through the forest. She is also told to go straight to her granny’s house, not to leave the path, and not to talk to strangers.
However, Little Red disobeys her mother and ends up putting both herself and her granny in grave danger.
In Charles Perault’s version of the bedtime story, both Little Red Riding Hood and her granny are eaten by the wolf.
3. Don’t Give People Personal Information
When Little Red meets the wolf for the first time, she happily tells him that she is going to visit her granny and she even tells him where her granny lives.
Because of the information Little Red gives him, the wolf is able to race ahead and reach Granny’s house first. Little Red Riding Hood’s innocence and trust put herself and her granny in danger.
Another important lesson that can be learned from the Little Red Riding Hood story is for parents. As parents, we must also realize that our children will make mistakes and that they are trusting and innocent. We can’t expect them to always make the right decisions and they will almost always make mistakes as they grow and learn.
In Charles Perault’s Version of the story, he actually includes a moral to the fairy tale. However, his Little Red Riding Hood story is a lot darker than the Brother Grimm story.
In Perault’s story, Little Red Riding Hood takes off her clothes and climbs into bed with the wolf who she believes to be her granny. She is subsequently eaten by the wolf. There is no hero to save her from the dangerous wolf.
Moral: Children, especially attractive, well bred young ladies, should never talk to strangers, for if they should do so, they may well provide dinner for a wolf. I say “wolf,” but there are various kinds of wolves. There are also those who are charming, quiet, polite, unassuming, complacent, and sweet, who pursue young women at home and in the streets. And unfortunately, it is these gentle wolves who are the most dangerous ones of all.

What is Little Red Riding Hood’s Name?
In a version of Little Red Riding Hood written by Charles Marelle, written in 1888, he explains that Red’s real name is Blanchette.
Charles Marelle begins his story by saying that many lies have been written about the girl known as Little Red Riding Hood in the past. According to Marelle, the girl’s real name is Blanchette. She becomes known as Little Goldenhood because of the hooded cloak the color of gold and fire that her grandmother gave her.

In Charles Marelle’s version of the fairy tale, Little Red Riding Hood meets the wolf in the forest just like the other versions of the story.
However, the fairy tale has a very different ending from the others.
When the wolf arrives at Blanchette’s grandmother’s house, he finds that there is nobody at home. That is because Blanchette’s grandmother has gone to town to sell herbs.

Nevertheless, the wolf puts on the old woman’s nightcap and gets into her bed. The wolf tells Blanchette to take off her dress and get into bed with him. She does as she is told but keeps her golden hood on her head.
Blanchette says that the wolf has hairy arms. He replies that they are better for hugging. The girl says that the wolf has a large tongue. He says that he can answer better with that tongue. Blanchette says that the wolf has a mouthful of large white teeth. He replies, “That’s for crunching little children with.”
The wolf goes to eat Blanchette. His mouth is horribly burned by her magical golden hood and he runs around the house in pain. At that moment, Blanchette’s grandmother returns. She holds open a large sack into which the wolf runs. Blanchette’s grandmother then throws the wolf down a well and he drowns. The old woman says that she will use the wolf’s skin to make a coat for Blanchette and will feed his carcass to the dogs.
Conclusion
The Little Red Riding Hood story is an old bedtime fairy tale that has been told for generations to teach children about the dangers of speaking to and trusting strangers. The story can be quite dark and scary depending on which version you read.
